Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Last updated: 14 November 2025
1. Introduction
At Hues & Reflections, we are committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in our business or supply chains.
We fully support the principles of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our operations, respecting the human rights of everyone involved in our products and services.
Even though we are a small UK business, we choose to publish this statement voluntarily as part of our commitment to ethical business practices, transparency, and continuous improvement.
2. Our Business
Hues & Reflections is a UK-based online retailer offering printed and personalised wall art, all made to order.
Our operations include product design, printing, packaging, and customer fulfilment. We primarily work with UK and European suppliers for printing materials, frames, paper, and packaging.
We operate entirely from the UK and source products and services only from trusted partners who share our values on ethical working practices, fair wages, and respect for human rights.
3. Our Supply Chain
Our supply chain includes:
- Printing and paper material suppliers
- Packaging and fulfilment providers
- Technology and platform partners (Shopify, payment processors, couriers)
We expect all suppliers and partners to uphold the same standards of integrity, respect, and fairness. Where possible, we source from UK or EU-based suppliers that comply with local labour, health, and safety regulations.
4. Our Commitment and Policies
We are committed to ensuring that no form of modern slavery, forced labour, or human trafficking occurs within our operations or supply chains.
Our internal policies include:
- Ethical Sourcing Policy – we only work with suppliers who can demonstrate fair labour standards and transparent supply chains.
- Supplier Code of Conduct – outlines our expectations regarding working conditions, wages, child labour, discrimination, and environmental responsibility.
- Whistleblowing Policy – encourages staff, partners, and suppliers to report any concerns or unethical practices confidentially.
- Recruitment Practices – we conduct direct hiring and do not use agencies that charge workers recruitment fees or exploit labour.
5. Due Diligence
We perform appropriate due diligence on all new suppliers and maintain ongoing dialogue with existing partners to ensure compliance.
This includes:
- Assessing supplier reputation and ethical practices
- Ensuring compliance with employment laws and fair pay standards
- Reviewing third-party certifications or environmental credentials (where applicable)
If any supplier is found to be in breach of our ethical standards, we will take immediate corrective action or terminate the relationship.
6. Risk Assessment
Given our small operational scale and UK/EU-based supplier network, we consider the risk of modern slavery within our business and direct supply chain to be low.
However, we remain vigilant, especially in areas such as raw material sourcing, packaging production, and international logistics, where risks can be higher.
7. Training and Awareness
We ensure that all staff and partners are aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking.
As our business grows, we will continue to provide training and guidance to employees and management on identifying and responding to potential risks within the supply chain.
8. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
We regularly review our suppliers, policies, and business practices to strengthen our ethical standards.
Our long-term commitment is to maintain a transparent supply chain and to foster relationships only with suppliers who share our values and actively work to prevent labour exploitation.
9. Approval
This statement has been approved by the management of Hues & Reflections and will be reviewed annually.
It is published on our website at https://huesandreflections.co.uk to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to ethical and responsible business practices.
